By the middle of this century, LG Electronics is completely switching to renewable energy sources

The leadership of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electronics and household appliances, the South Korean concern LG Electronics, announced that it plans to completely switch to the use of renewable energy sources by 2050.

And by the end of the next decade, to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, harmful to the atmosphere, to zero – to achieve carbon neutrality.

By the end of this year 2021, the company plans to completely switch to renewable energy sources its American subsidiary, and by the middle of this decade, all other foreign divisions. In the homeland of the manufacturer, the transition will be more measured. It is planned that by the end of this decade, local offices and production will use more than half of clean energy for their needs, and by the end of the next – 90%.

To achieve these targets, the electronics manufacturer plans to use highly efficient solar panels, as well as modern cooling and energy management systems.

According to the information portal 3DNews, by such actions the management of the concern is trying not only to make its own contribution to improving the environment, but also to change the opinion of others that equipment manufacturers have a negative impact on the environment.
